Danny Ray Anderson, 64, of Laurens died Monday, January 24, 2022 at his residence.

Born on March 27, 1957 in Columbus County, NC, he was a son of the late Clyde Ray and Kay Elaine Carter Anderson.

Danny loved the Lord and throughout his life and many challenges, always found comfort in time with God. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the road construction industry for many years and was well known as one of the most talented operators in the region.

Danny always enjoyed a good time and hanging out with his friends. He loved his family dearly, and they brought him much joy. He had a giving heart. He had regrets, but he found forgiveness in his faith, and was always grateful that God had given him a second chance at life and relationships. Danny was very proud that he was finding freedom from alcohol addiction. He finished his life's journey sober for more than 15 months.

He is survived by his children, Dianna René Livingston (Dean) of Laurens and Phillip Ray McCraw of Tennessee; a sister, Robin Smith (Chuck) of Tennessee; grandchildren, Dakota Ray Anderson, George Dean Livingston III, and Mason Dean Livingston; several nieces and nephews; and family friends, Toni Ironmonger and Earline Howell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry conducted by Chaplain Annie Myers. Burial will follow at Enoree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for the viewing one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Interim HealthCare Hospice for their care and support.
