Harry was the son of Richard Sill Griswold and his wife Rosa Brown. Harry married Florence Van Deusen on September 1, 1906 at Ferrisburgh, Vermont. Harry and Florence had a daughter, Alys Elizabeth Griswold. Harry served as a Captain in the 56th Regiment of the United States Army Coast Artillery Corps during World War I. Harry and Florence's inscriptions are on the back side of his parents large gravestone.
