Mrs. Angel passes away - Services for Mary Josephine Angel, 85, Stonewall, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Ada at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Dub Boland officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Angel was born in Frisco on March 23, 1912, to William Thomas and Mary J. Oliver King. She died July 4, 1997, at Coalgate. She married Tony Isaac Angel Dec. 9, 1929 at Lula. The couple owned and operated a grocery store in Tupelo from 1964 to 1975. Mr. Angel passed away May 27, 1982, in Ada. Mrs. Angel lived in the Tupelo area most of her life and was affiliated with the Church of God. She attended Eubanks School. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Harrison Angel, in Feb., 1937 (was Jan. 28, 1937). Survivors include four daughters, Lorene Caruthers and Estalene Jackson, Tupelo, Margrett Johnston, Stonewall, and Doris Meyers, Miami, Fla.; one sister, Lola Ingram, Ada; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Bearers were nephews.
