Ruth Margaret Lamphier, age 97, of Wells, MN, died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN, where she had resided for the past 8 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN with Pastor Chris Leistra officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Ruth Margaret was born July 6, 1924 in Thomson, MN the daughter of William and Emma (Kesty) Karjala. On May 4, 1944 she married Outhenal "Ozzey" Lamphier. The couple owned and operated Webb Service until they retired in 1984. The couple also owned many rental properties in Wells, all the while with Ruth taking care of the books. After their retirement, Ozzey and Ruth delivered motorhomes for Winnebago throughout the United States and Canada. She was a Cub Scout den leader as well as a Campfire leader. She was a member of the Wells American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children: Diane (Cas) Peloza of Lebanon, TN, Lea Lamphier of Mankato, Kay Janssen (Scott Sauke) of Albert Lea, and Karyn Valles of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Sandy (Marvin) Cline, Linda (Mike) Neal, Linda (Kent) Friesner, Christine Lindholm, Jeff Lindholm, Nancy Lindholm, Jessica Flatness (Nick Nasby), Ryan (Megan) Wach, Nick (Holly) Wach, Shaun Gutierrez (Miranda Bixby), Angie Costilla, Nicole (Jesse) Mata, Cody (Rosalee) Gutierrez; great-grandchildren: Casey, Jared, Sara, Olivia, Reilly, Jackson, Devon, Alannah, Beau, Kendra, Makia, Arianna, Shaun Jr., Alexander, Ella, Mickey, Madylen and Owen; son-in-law: Clifford "Jim" Lindholm; many nieces, nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ozzey; daughter Peggy Lindholm, brother, Harvey Karjala.
