George was a graduate of Gannon University. He was a member of St. George Church where he was an usher and eucharistic minister. George was the top salesman for many years at Hermes Abrasives based in Virginia Beach, Va. He had been a volunteer at Avilla House in Union City. George enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks, Plasha Yoga, dancing and singing and going to wineries. He was a huge sports fan, especially the Penguins, but most of all he loved his family and grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Anne (Beyth) Barcellona in 2000, two brothers; Anthony and Edward Barcellona and his sister-in-law Caroline Barcellona.
Survivors include one son, Nick Barcellona and his wife Carrie and their children; Emma, Lucas, Gavin and Andrew, His companion of many years, Joyce Gahan and her children: Kristina Lantz and her husband Jeff and their daughter Alice, Rachel Brandl and her husband Jim and their children, Harper and Reese and David Gahan and his fiancé Katie Collins; four brothers; Rev. Thomas Barcellona, John Barcellona and his wife Donna, Jay Barcellona and his wife Colleen, Deacon Peter Barcellona, his sister, Linda Barcellona; his sister-in-laws Valerie Barcellona, Rebecca Charnas and her husband John, and Regina Beyth; his brother-in-law Mark Beyth and his wife Mary; his god daughters Katrina Calzat Barcellona and Alexis Charnas; and god son Jack Charnas; along with many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m. and are invited to attend prayers there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at St. George Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
