Myrna Joy (Henry) Abbott age 86, of Estill Springs passed away on February 2, 2022 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Mryna was born on May 1, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James and Charlotte (Romine) Henry. Myrna was the school nurse for several years at Cowan School and retired as a secretary. In her spare time her hobbies included but not limited to painting, traveling to different places, listing to good music and visiting with her friends. Myrna was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church where she played the handbells with children's choir and a past member of the Red Hats Society. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Abbott; daughter, Sandra Kay Weddington; son, Danny C. Abbott; and brother, James B. Henry. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Dale (Sue) Abbott; grandchildren, Joni (Greg) Watkins and Corey Abbott; great-grandchildren; Levi, Candice, and Kylie; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
