Billie Lorene Buckley was born on April 28, 1937 in Anderson County, Texas.
She went to be with Jesus in the early morning hours of February 5, 2022. She was 84 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Buckley, parents, Oscar Audrey Wofford, Sr. and Minnie Odessa Shaver Wofford. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Oscar Wofford, Jr., Virginia McDaniel, Geneva McDaniel, Willie Wofford, Bobbie Jones, and Doris Claiborne.
She took great pride in her flower garden each spring. She delighted in all of the hummingbirds and butterflies the flowers attracted in her yard. She enjoyed cooking and was famous to her family for her fried chicken and coconut pies. Selling big, red tomatoes at the Tyler Farmers' Market was one of her favorite summertime activities. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and ceramics.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter and son in law, Diane and Clyde Cain of Jacksonville, son and daughter in law, Tim and Melinda Buckley of Mt. Selman, grandchildren, Donnie and Jennifer Kelsey Cain, Corey and Amanda Buckley, Jennifer and Jay Brashear, and Jessica and Matt Tarrant. Great grandchildren are Hana, Adam, Riley, Brady, Hunter, Reese, Barrett, Tinsley, and Weston.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Autry Funeral Home. The Reverend Joe Ballard will officiate. Burial will be at Still Waters Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Cain, Jay Brashear, Matt Tarrant, David Claiborne, Mitchell Claiborne, and James Bacon.
