He was born in Tyler County, a son of the late Samuel T. and Rhea Fox Lough.
Lester was a retired employee of the Tyler County Board of Education, having been a bus driver for 35 years. He was also a former employee of the WV Soil Conservation and a farmer. He was a member of the Pennsboro Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Mae Hoskins Lough, in August of 2000; and a brother, Raymond Lough.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Heintzman, Middlebourne; two grandchildren, Dennis (Clista) Heintzman, Sistersville, and Debra (Mike) Smith, Middlebourne; a sister, Geneva (Lorman) Meredith, East Liverpool, Ohio; four great-grandchil dren, Bethany and Darren Heintzman and Rosana and Joshua Smith; a step-grand child, Brandon Smith; a special friend and care giver, Jeff Meredith; a great-nephew; and a sister-in-law, Katy Lough, East Liverpool.
Friends will be received at the Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., with Evangelist Terry Jones officiating.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Bearsville Community, Alma, WV.
