She would be hospitalized, jailed briefly then rehospitalized and jump from a second story window fracturing her pelvis and ankle. Eventually she was sent home and never prosecuted for killing Arthur. In 1898 and 1899 her husband threatened divorce, even posting notices to that effect in the newspapers. But in Dec 1899 she had a daughter, Florence. When Florence was three months old she strangled her. She was deemed insane and sent to Dixmont hospital from May to Oct then, at her husband's urging, released home again. In 1908 she killed herself.
