Jean K. Doverspike, 83, of South Street, Clarion, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion.

Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lester A. and Lucy Matthews Kroh.

Mrs. Doverspike worked at one time at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion. Mrs. Doverspike was a member of the Owens-Illinois Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, belonged to a couple of bridge clubs and volunteered at Clarion Hospital for many years.

Mrs. Doverspike was married to Robert C. Doverspike, who died March 11, 1981.

Surviving are a son, Bob Doverspike of St. Louis, Mo.; and two granddaughters, Sara Doverspike and Emily Doverspike, both of St. Louis, Mo.

She also is survived by two brothers and their wives, Richard and Jane Kroh of Shippenville and Jack A. and Elaine Kroh of Clarion; one sister, Mrs. John (Joan) Freas of Clarion; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Doverspike was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church, Clarion, with the Rev. Richard Harry officiating.

Interment will follow in Clarion Cemetery.
