Princess. She was a Princess of Sweden de facto and a duchess, first consort of Prince Adolph John, Duke of Stegeborg and brother of King Carl X Gustav of Sweden. She was a countess by birth as the daughter of Count Per Brahe the Younger and was raised by her paternal grandmother Elsa Gyllenstierna at Rydboholm. Before marrying she was a maid of honor to her husband's cousin, reigning Queen Christina of Sweden, who introduced her to Adolph John. Their wedding took place at Three Crowns Castle in Stockholm in 1649 in the presence of the monarch. The ducal couple's finances improved when Adolph John was appointed Governor General of the West Gothland province in 1651. They had only one child, a boy who died in infancy. She died visiting Vadstena and was originally buried there.
