Served in the United States Army during WWII.
He was married to Joan Marie (Luttman) on March 21, 1945. They had ten children, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Hettie, James, Richard, Robert, Colleen, Harold Jr, Donald & David. Twentyeight grandchildren, seventy-eight great-grandchildren, and fifty-one great-great-grandchildren.
Worked for Ball Brass & Aluminum Foundry in Auburn, IN, for 26 years, retiring in 1988. He also sold and installed furnaces and was a carpenter and a handyman.
He was a member of the Auburn American Legion Post 97.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and gardening.
