William L., Bolton, former Riverview, MI resident, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Vancouver, WA. He was born May 2, 1925 in St. Louis, MO and raised in Memphis, TN. The day "Bill" graduated from high school (1943) he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Central Pacific 1945-1946. He was honorably discharged May 23, 1946. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee August 26, 1949. Mr. Bolton entered the F.B.I. March 8, 1954. He was a special agent for the Detroit, MI office until retirement in 1980. He then served as Deputy Racing Commissioner for the state of Michigan June 1981-July 1983. He also served as Assistant Special Prosecutor-Investigator for the State of Ohio. He was self-employed as a private Investigator until his move to Vancouver, WA in 2013. William married Margaret Ann Nave on March 18, 1949 in Nashville, TN. His wife of 54 years preceded him in death February 26, 2003. They are survived by daughters: Judith (Michael) Mulheisen, Margaret Elizabeth (Tom Shumaker) Taylor, Dr. Carolyn (Dr. Harry Ploehn) Bolton; grandchildren: Erik (Andrea) Mulheisen, Megan (Ted) Robertson, Patricia and William Ploehn; great-grandchildren: Norah Mulheisen, Annabelle and Clifton Robertson. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Roberta Jane Robilio and son-in-law, Don Taylor. A memorial service will be held at Riverview United Methodist Church at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
