Mr. Kelm was born in Martinsville, son of James and F. A. (Effie) Kelm. He was a retired maintenance department employee for the U. S. Postal Service, a minister and member of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Helen L. Diefenthaler in 1948. She died in 1983.
Surviving are his son Frederick of Decatur; sister Mabel Thomas of Rossville; four grandchildren. Two brothers, Ralph and Seibert, preceded him in death.
