Lydia Derr Wilkins, daughter of Robert William Derr and Sally Minerva (Teeter) Derr. She married Nimrod N. Wilkins 15 Apr 1908 in Chamal, Mexico.

An interesting note about her birth in Texas. Technically, she was born in Mangum, Texas, however, this county was placed into Indian Territory in 1896 and of course became Oklahoma in 1907. The decision was a result of changing the boundary from the North Fork of the Red River to the more southern path of the Red River. This change was decided by the US Supreme Court which included several counties.

Another note about the tombstone. She actually died on her birthday, however, the place that made the tombstone put the wrong date on the tombstone. The family decided to just leave the tombstone wrong rather than have it done over.

Gravesite Details

Also a correction to dates. The tombstone has her death date on April 21, 1991. However, the correct date is April 23, 1991 and is verified by Social Security Death records. The tombstone was engraved incorrectly and never corrected.
