LANE, VERA LOREE, 82, passed away at her residence at Glen Carr House in Derby, KS on February 15, 2022. Vera was born on July 24, 1939 in Rural Haskell County to Oscar Charles and Gladys Esther {White} O'Neal. Vera's family lived on the family farm North of Satanta, KS where she attended and graduated from high school. She went to Anderson College in Indiana and then soon began teaching. In Wichita, Vera was teaching Home Economics when she met Robert "Robo" Lane at Pawnee Ave Church of God, and they were later married there in 1966. In 1974, they moved their family of 4 from west Wichita to Benton and lived there until 2020. Vera loved children and had a great passion for teaching them which led her to open a daycare in their home in Benton and later helped start the Bullfrogs and Butterflies Preschool at Hope Community Church, acting as its first Director. As one of the founding families of Hope Community Church in Andover, KS, Robo and Vera were very active members until recently. Reading was another passion of Vera's, and she always had books close by including women's devotionals most recently....She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Robo" Lane, her parents Oscar and Gladys; sister Lavon and brothers Robert and Charles.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Hope Community Church, 1831 E. 21st St. N., Andover. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., also at Hope Community Church with Pastor Steve Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Cemetery, Benton, KS. Services may be watched by clicking through Hope Church's website.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vera's memory to Bullfrogs & Butterflies Preschool in c/o Hope Community Church, 1831 E. 21st St. N., Andover, KS 67002 or to Hope Community Church, 1831 E. 21st St. N., Andover, KS 67002.
