George Abernathy died Thursday at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Smith Chapel Church of God.
Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Mamie Abernathy, son James Abernathy, brother Arthur Abernathy, several nieces and nephews.
