Mrs. Catherine L. McKim, the widow of Mr. John S. McKim, died of the grip at 4.30 o'clock yesterday morning, at her home, 1035 North Calvert street. She had been ill about a week, and her death was a shock to her large circle of friends.

Mrs. McKim was a daughter of Mr. Randolph Harrison, of Clifton, Va., long since dead, and descended from the family of Harrisons famous in the annals of Virginia, off which Benjamin Harrison, who signed the Declaration of Independence, and President William Henry Harrison were distinguished representatives. She was also a descendant of the Randolph family that was prominent in the history of Virginia. She was in the eighty-eighth year of her age.

Mrs. McKim came to Baltimore with Mr. McKim soon after their marriage in 1831 and lived here ever since. Mr. McKim was president of the Powhatan Steamboat Company for many years, and died in 1865. His father was a prominent merchant in Baltimore. Mrs. McKim was prominent in society for years, and her life was one of constant benevolence and kindness. She enjoyed good health until stricken with the grip. For many years she had been a member of Emmanuel P. E. Church. Three children survive her, Rev. Dr. Randolph H. McKim, rector of Epiphany Protestant Episcopal Church, Washington; Miss Mary R. McKim and Miss Margaret T. McKim.

The funeral will take place today. Service will be held at Emmanuel Church at 3.30 o'clock. Rev. Dr. J. Houston Eccleston will officiate, assisted by Rev. Thomas E. Patterson and Rev. William M. Dane, of Memorial church. Interment will be in the McKim vault in Greenmount Cemetery.
