He was born October 26, 1925 in Foreman, Arkansas to the late Conroe William and Nawasa (Dennis) McMullan. He was a veteran in the United States Navy serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was the student body President of Northwestern State University and received his degree in 1951 under the GI Bill. He was a member of Phi Kappa Nu Fraternity, American Legion Post #166, served two terms on the Springhill City Council from 1978 to 1986, the past President of the Springhill Chamber of Commerce, the first Eagle Scout in Springhill, Louisiana, a past board member of the North Webster Industrial District, and a member of Springhill United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty two years, Evelyn Geneva (Montgomery) McMullan, granddaughter, Morgan M'Layne McMullan and step-mother, Leona McMullan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bernard Cantebury officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill, Louisiana. Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Springhill Association for Retarded Citizens (SPARC).
