Evelyn Ruth Taylor, 95, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Harrison Springs Health Campus. She was born in Harrison County, Indiana the daughter of Harry J. and Daisy Mildred Hughes Sibert. She was the registration clerk at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon for many years. She loved gardening, her children and her grandchildren and was dubbed "the pie baking queen". She was a lifelong member of Fountain United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert A. Taylor, son, John David Taylor and great granddaughter, Julia Rae Dearth. She is survived by her son, J. Stephen Taylor (Virginia) of Corydon, IN; daughters, Roberta Sue Taylor and Mary Lou Craig-Thomas (Ricky) all of Corydon, IN, Martha Dones (Kennie) of Elizabeth, IN and Laura Frederick (Roger) of Laconia, IN; brothers, Herbert C. Sibert of Lanesville, IN and Howard Sibert of Corydon, IN; and her sister Laura L. "Dookie" Royse of Corydon, IN; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday, February 28, 2022, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Rev. Ryan Stroud will officiate. Burial will follow in Blue River Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN and again from 10 AM to 1 PM on Monday also at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Fountain United Methodist Church.
