"A. W. Runkle, who once carried on a wagon on a small way in Keytesville, was killed near Sheloina, last week by a train. He was just ready to cross a bridge when he heard the train whistle. He got off the bridge and was walking along the side of the track on the dump, when the beam on the top of the pilot struck him on the head just above the ear, mashing his head into a jelly. Death, of course, was instantaneous. He was sixty years old."
