Roe Lambert, 80, of Idabel died today in McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Norwood Funeral Chapel with Roy Risley officiating. Burial in the Denison Cemetery will be under the direction of Norwood Funeral Home of Idabel.
Lambert was born March 6, 1906 in Bowie County, Texas. He had lived here the past 53 years, moving from Pine Springs, Texas. He was employed by the Idabel School System for the past 18 years. He had a farm and lawn mower repair shop. He and Pearl Maze were married Sept. 23, 1933 in Idabel.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl, of the home; two sons, Jimmy and Jerry Lambert of Idabel; three daughters, Bobbie Simpson of Sand Springs, Gail Mattingly of Durant and Peggy Qualls of Shawnee; a brother, Gussie Lambert of Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Clara Markham of DeKalb, Texas and Lois Gamble of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that a memorial donation be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Inc.
