C. Patricia Franklin was born on June 23, 1923 in Metalton, Arkansas and passed away on August 30, 2007 in Merced, California
at the age of 84 years after a long extended illness. Patricia retired after 23 years of service from Merced County Purchasing Department in 1980.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ira Franklin; her mother and father, homer and Rebecca Burks and her brother, Kenneth Burks.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Leonardo and husband John of Roseville, CA, and Diane Fister and husband John of Merced, CA. Patricia was the proud "Nana" of six grandchildren, Johnee, Shaunae and Shane Leonardo, Jeff Romo, Nicci Anderson and Britt Vance. She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren, Kylie, JT and Allisa Leonardo, Tyler Gilbert, Tanner Vance, Kolby Anderson and Vanessa, Jessica, Drew and Sienna Romo.
Mama and Nana was dearly loved by her family and all that knew her. She will be truly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California 2501 McHenry Avenue Modesto, California 95350.
