This aged lady was indeed a "mother in Israel;" she had been for many years a member of the Methodist church, and was remarkably versed in the Scriptures, which she could quote accurately by the chapter. Mrs. Irwin leaves four sons--
Cornelius, with whom she resided; Daniel, living in New Jersey; Peter, of Ridgway, Pennsylvania; and John, living in Lackawack. The funeral was on Tuesday; interment at Lackawack.

Note: Johanna was later re-interred at Furman Cemetery.

Aged 82 years
Rest from thy labour rest.
