Aubrey Bernard Cole, Sr., 67, of Rt. 2 Box 416 (Ada Road) Bluefield, W.Va. died Thursday November 20, 2008 at his residence.Bernard was born November 29, 1940 in Bluefield, a son of the late Willie H. Cole and Violet Marie Sheets Cole. He was a member of Ceres Baptist Church and for many years did contract lawn care, and had previously worked for Ken Shrader Construction Company. Bernard loved hiking and being in the mountains and finding ginseng. In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by a son Aubrey B. "B.J." Cole, Jr.; daughter, Tina P. Osborne; a brother, Willie H. Cole, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Amanda M. Hicks.He is survived by his wife, Janice Mullins Cole; daughters, Virginia Hicks of High Point, N.C., and Kimberly S. Wiley and her companion Jeff Jividen of Princeton, W.Va.; a son, Mark A. Cole and his wife Dee Dee of Flat Top, W.Va.; sisters, Shirley Dillow of Bluefield, W.Va., Pat Jackson and her husband Clarence of Statesville, N.C., and Joyce Messer also of Statesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Kourtney Fulknier, Cory Fulknier and Kaytlyn Wiley, all of Princeton, W.Va., Zachary J. Cole of Surfside, S.C., Elizabeth Stovall of Flat Top, W.Va., Jeromy Lambert of Trinity, N.C., Brandon Hicks of High Point, N.C., Savannah Osborne of Marion, Va., Tosha Carver and Roxanne Mills, both of Bluefield; great-grandchildren, Hayley Mills and Talon Fulknier, both of Princeton and Shaylee Cornett and Tina Renee Carver, both of Bluefield, W.Va.; and special friends, Dave Shields, Jimmy Busic and Howard Lewis.Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with the Rev W. W. Wyrick officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Princeton where Roger Cole, Jeremy Lambert, Ricky Dillow, Benny Dillow, Tommy Lankford, Brandon Hicks and Donnie Linkous will serve as pallbearers.
