t: Obituary from Liewer Funeral Home:

Fredrick Wayne Krausnick was born September 26, 1941, at Imperial, Nebraska to Elwyn L. and Viola S. (Nordhausen) Krausnick. He was raised on the family farm west of Wauneta. As a boy growing up, he enjoyed the Arabian horses. His Uncle Keith Krausnick had a notable Arabian Stud "Char-zer" that boarded on the Elwyn Krausnick farm. Fred's Uncle Keith Krausnick and Uncle Floyd Nordhausen passed their interest and love of Arabian horses onto Fred, an influence that his uncles probably never realized.
Fred attended Wauneta Public Schools graduating from Wauneta High School in 1959. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1963. In the fall of 1963, Fred began his teaching career as a Vocational-Agriculture instructor in the Ogallala Public School System. While teaching in Ogallala, he met Betty Crawford, a teacher from Chappell, Nebraska.

Fred married Betty J. Crawford on August 23, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Madrid, Nebraska. To this union two sons were born: Wayne Dean and Todd Stanley. The couple first settled in Kearney, Nebraska, where Betty finished her education, earning a Bachelor of Art Degree in Education. In the fall of 1965, Fred and Betty taught at the Wauneta Public Schools.

After the 1967-1968 school years, Fred started a partnership with his father, and he and Betty moved to the family farm in 1968, where they made their home until present. Fred and Elwyn spent so much time together they almost knew what the other was thinking.

In the first years of operation, they raised hogs and began the process of changing the cattle herd from Hereford to Black Angus. Over the following years, Fred and Betty grew alfalfa, wheat, and corn, along with raising cattle.

Fred was baptized as a child of God and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wauneta for over sixty years. In his earlier years he was also a member of the Ender's Gun Club. He enjoyed metal working and tinkering in his shop, along with playing cards, particularly "Pitch". Fred
was instrumental in the creation of the first Nordhausen Family Reunion. This included cooking all the meat in an open pit on the farm.
First and foremost, Fred loved his family especially following his sons in their 4-H and school activities.

Fred passed away Saturday evening, February 26, 2022, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial, NE. Fred was 80 years of age.
