Obituary of Joyce Louise Brewer
Joyce Louise Brewer – June 27, 1929, to July 1, 2020

Joyce was born on June 27, 1929, in Kings Valley, Oregon to John Anton and Imogene Pearl (Townsend) Turner-Richardson.
She attended grade school and high school in Kings Valley and completed high school in Chicago, Illinois, and took some college courses. For 17 years Joyce served as a clerk at the Corvallis Public Library.
Joyce married Donald J Brewer on May 10, 1974, in Reno, Nevada, who remained her husband until he passed away in February 2010. They were married for 36 years.
Joyce loved gardening and in Kings Valley, they grew a variety of fruit trees and a big vegetable garden, along with a wide variety of flowers.
Joyce loved to ride her mower and sing praises to the Lord at the top of her lungs. She also loved old things that reminded her of days gone by. She had a nice collection of old blue bottles and in her younger years, she loved to dig through old family homesteads and dumps. She and Don loved to go to Depoe Bay and eat seafood and watch the ocean.
Joyce had a little dog named Yokohama, who she called Yokie, and for years she would pen stories about Yokie's escapades as if he was the writer, much to the delight of family and friends.
Joyce loved the Lord and faithfully attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Corvallis where she would sometimes lead the worship service. She enjoyed attending any kind of Christian event, even traveling to Redding, CA to hear some of her favorite speakers. She always looked forward to and loved attending the Pentecostal Church of God Women's Camp Meeting in Drain, Oregon.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John and Imogene, her husband, Don, and her sister, Shirley Gish.
A graveside service will be held in the Kings Valley Pioneer Cemetery in Kings Valley, OR at a later date and will be updated here.
