Ira Adam Atkinson, 63, an assistant Charleston building inspector, died Sunday at his home on Charleston Rt. 5.

A former machinist for several companies in the Kanawha valley, he had been with the building inspector's office since January.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Emmanuel Baptist church with Rev. James F. Frame officiating. Burial will be In Grandview Memorial cemetery at Dunbar.

Surviving are his widow, Emma; four daughters, Mrs. George R. Ficrbaugh and Mrs. Carl J. Jacobson, both of Charleston; Mrs. J. E. Murrill of Parkersburg and Mrs. R. Dale Mundy of Belle; two brothers Baines and R. N. Atkinson, both of Charleston; two sisters, Ms. H. W. Henderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Alfred Koontz of Charleston, and two grandchildren.
