She was born Tuesday, November 14, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late William Gerken and the late Esther (Oetting) Gerken. Sharon attended the Immanuel Lutheran school as a child and spent most of her life in Higginsville.
Sharon was a simple quiet woman; she didn't need a whole lot. She enjoyed her pets and many would see her sitting in her lawn chair out front as she would people watch and take in the luxury of small town living on Fairground Avenue. She enjoyed the stillness and quietness of living in a rural town. Sharon loved writing and wrote many letters to friends and old classmates.
Surviving are her brother, sister and three nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. There will be a private burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Corder.
