A Jackson County man has been found guilty of first-degree murder.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jerard Jarzynka announced Rauss Ball was found guilty on Jan. 26 after he fatally stabbed local business owner Taylin Alexander during a fight at a motorcycle club in Blackman Township in February 2022.
"First, I want to thank the Jury for carefully listening and weighing all of the evidence. This was an extremely tough case, especially since the defendant represented himself. This verdict was appropriate for the facts," said Jarzynka. "We are very pleased with this verdict."
"I also want to thank the Blackman Township Police Department for investigating this case. They did an excellent job. In particular, Detective Jeremiah Wheeler did an outstanding job," said Jarzynka.
Ball faces life in prison when he is sentenced. A sentencing date has not been announced.
