OBITUARY:
Milton Ray Allgood, age 78, of Boydton, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born at home in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on February 18, 1943 and was the son of the late Taylor Edward Allgood and the late Susie Mae Allgood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Wesley Jackson "W.J." Phillips and Thomas Mark Allgood; daughter, Shelby Renae Powell, brother, Chester Allgood; and very close friend, Drewery Carter.

Milton is survived by his wife, Kathy Rogers Allgood; three sons, Timothy Ray Allgood of Boydton, Ronald Todd Allgood (Karen) of West Virginia, and Merle Trent Allgood (Claudia) of Boydton; daughter, Karen Allgood Church (Joey) of South Hill; his grandchildren, Ryan Allgood (Stacie), Jason Bennett, Christopher Allgood, Brian Allgood, Samantha Lafoon (Ryan), Jeremy Allgood, Amber Allgood, Heather Allgood, Allyson Allgood, Rose McGill, Katelyn Powell, Savannah Church, and Tripp Church; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Carlton Allgood (Lillie); dear friend, Kenneth Reamey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to give a special recognition to his devoted caregiver, Dura Reams.

Milton was a life time member of Easters United Methodist Church. He was a devoted Christian man and loved and knew the Bible. He was a hard working Tobacco Farmer and owned and operated the Banner-Star and Star Warehouses. He was a talented musician, enjoyed playing the guitar, and was Boston Red Sox's #1 fan. Milton had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel in Chase City. Interment will follow in Easters United Methodist Church Cemetery.
