Glidden Enterprise 4/15/1910 pg 1

Miss Amanda M Kline, the eldest daughter of Charles W Kline, died Monday afternoon. She had been sick for several years, but not seriously until last September when her condition became precarious and since an operation at Rochester several months ago it became evident that death might at any time relieve her sufferings.

The deceased was born at Germantown, Juneau Co, Wisconsin, March 28th 1875 and was 35 years and 14 days old. She came with her parents to Glidden when a child two years old and this village has since been her home. Everyone knew and respected her and she held the love of all those numbered among among her friends. During her illness covering several periods of severest trial, she bore her afflictions with fortitude and patience. Her death is a sad blow to those and especially her father, who cherished hopes that his daughter might overcome her illness and eventually regain good health and with the aid given her by the best medical and surgical authorities obtainable.

She had been brought up in the German Lutheran faith and was a member of that congregation. The funeral service was held at that church Thursday afternoon. Rev Georgii conducting the services in German and Rev Kainess of Ashland, preaching an eloquent sermon in English, touching upon the exemplary life of the deceased. Interment was at the local cemetery.

The large concourse of friends that gathered to pay their respect to the dead and the many floral tributes, were the last demonstrations of love and respect whereby her acquaintances and friends could make known their appreciation of a life well spent, though filled with suffering and in return for her kindness and thoughtfulness for others.

Besides her father there are three sisters and three brothers of her immediate relatives to mourn her death: Mrs J J Stoltz, Miss Kate Kline of Necedah and Miss Mable and Carl, Aaron and Fred Kline.

Relatives from out of town that were present were: Mr and Mrs Phil Runkle of Colonia, Wis, Miss Gunta Runkle of Ashland; Frank Bulger and Frank O'Toole of Necedah.

The Enterprise joins with the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved father, brothers and sisters in the hour of sorrow.

Card of Thanks

We wish to sincerely thank all those who so kindly tendered their assistance and sympathy during the sickness and after the death of our beloved daughter and sister. Especially are we thankful for the many floral tributes; to Reverends Georgii and Kainess for their kind words of comfort and to the Georgii family and Mrs McAshill, Hayton and Pierce for their kind assistance.
