Grace P. Brown, age 80 of Monroe, passed away October 5, 2021 at Oasis of Monroe.
Born February 6, 1941 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Grace was the only child of Myron and Margaret (VanSchaick) Brown. She grew up in Detroit and attended Pulaski Public Schools and graduated from Monroe Adult Education in 1988.
Grace loved her lord and would sing her beloved hymns when asked. She was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church and especially loved her former pastor, George Fountain. Grace was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Happy Haters in Harmony and was a past member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the church choir. Grace wasn't big into sports except for her Detroit Tigers. She was and avid crafter and enjoyed knitting, crocheting. She loved her flower garden and fondly remembered her mother's Victory Garden, especially her Jackson Perkins and Peace Roses.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents and neighbor Eva Munoz, who was like a second mother to her, as well as her beloved cat Mitten. She is survived by her best friend and sister at heart Lana Kaminska.
Lana would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and support during Grace's end of life journey. Grace was a resident of Oasis of Monroe (with many different names throughout the years). They took such kind and loving care of her and she loved her home and family there.
Memorial contribution in honor of Grace may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Michigan or to the charity of donor's choice.
