Dave Blair, 89, of Rt. 5, Asheville died unexpectedly Saturday, March 13, 1976 at his home.
A native of Newport, Tennessee, he had lived in Asheville for 45 years. He was a state employee and was a member of Gashes Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Maultlin Harris Blair, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Lester Crayton will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be A.D. Mason, Z.W. Mitchell, Lloyd Willingham, Tom Holt, Bill Elkins and Dave P. Earwood.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Penland and Sons Funeral Home, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before services.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Mrs. Carroll Johnson, 340 Deaverview Road.
