Pauline M. Weeks Sudut
3/16/1928 - 3/3/2022
Pauline, 93, Eugene, OR, died at home on March 3, 2022 of natural causes. She was born in Midwest, WY on March 16, 1928. Pauline was content with living most of her life in Eugene, but especially relished the 30 years she spent in Alaska.
Pauline was a strong, proud person with a zest for life, and great love for her surviving husband of 63 years, James "Jim" Sudut, Eugene; daughter Becky Elliott; granddaughter Candace Dhoege; great grandchildren Chancy and Blake, all of Alaska, and her son Steve Weeks who predeceased her. - Pauline's love also extended to animals, especially horses. We suspect she is now riding her favorite Tennessee Walker, Champagne, into eternity.
In1962 Pauline and Jim moved from Eugene to Alaska where they homesteaded 160 acres, worked on the North Slope in creating the Valdez Pipeline, panned for gold, raised horses, and built a very successful life. In Eugene they established a cattle and horse ranch on Territorial Highway; and a horse ranch on Simonsen Road, Pauline's residence upon her passing.
Her ashes, along with her husband Jim's, upon his death, will be spread in Alaska.
