Daughter of James John Herrington and Lila Hughes Herrington. Married James W Law 10 Feb 1935 in Sumter County, Georgia.

Bessie Mae died of puerperal eclampsia, which occurs after giving birth. Apparently the child did not live and may have been buried with her.

A search of the cemetery uncovered no marker for either. Sumter county historian Alan Anderson lists Bessie Mae/May's obituary as being published in the Americus Time-Recorder 23 Sep 1936.
