She was born April 8, 1912 in Edina, Missouri, the daugher of Oscar A. and Minnie Mae Stutsman Lorey. On November 15, 1930 at Kirksville she was married to Raymond Earl Vance and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1989.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Edward, Jacob and Louis Lorey, one sister, Mary Lorey and one nephew.
Survving are one brother, Leslie Lorey of Wheatridge, CO; two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Vance attended schools in Edina and Marceline, MO.
She and her husband moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri in 1935 where she was employed as a book binder and proof reader at the Excelsior Springs Daily Standard for thirty years before retiring and moving to Edina.
She was a member of the Edina Christian Church and had also taught Sunday school for 15 years at Woods Memorial Christian Church in Excelsior Springs.
She was a member of the Kirksville Rebekah Lodge Anchor 44, Charter member of Ladies Auxiliary #741 and #239 and the Excelsior Springs Historical Museum.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 1, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hudson-Rime Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery.
