Harold Lee "Buck" Jacobs, 86, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, at home.

Born June 20, 1935, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Lewis Coleman Jacobs and Eva M. (Brinkman) Jacobs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dayle L. (Deneen) Jacobs; brothers, Fred Jacobs and wife, Sandra (Brown) and Bruce Jacobs.

Buck was a 1955 graduate of Fort Hill High School and a 1957 graduate of Catherman's Business School. He went on to work at South Cumberland Plating Mill, Bearing and Transmission, and Cumberland Steel before starting his 20-year career at CSX Transportation in Cumberland.

He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, and he volunteered for the Western Maryland Food Bank for 32 years with over 1000 hours of service each year. For several of those years, he was recognized by the Retired Seniors Volunteer Project (RSVP) as the top hourly volunteer in Allegany County.

Buck leaves behind his son, John Jacobs and wife, Amy, Cumberland; grandchildren, Coleman Jacobs and girlfriend, Rebecca Holthusen, Cumberland, Grace Jacobs, Martinsburg, WV, Austin Jacobs, Cumberland, Kristin Martin, Cumberland, and Greg Martin and wife, Carly, Cumberland; great-grandchildren, Aidan Westfall, Lailey Martin, and Mollie Martin; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 5 to 8pm. A funeral service will be conducted at the First Church of the Nazarene, Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11am. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
