Mrs. Taylor was born in Newton, N.H.
She was educated at schools in Haverhill, Mass., and Newton and was a 1924 graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. She had lived in the Troy area for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Taylor worked in health education in parochial schools for the Rensselaer County Tuberculosis and Public Health Association from 1926-28 and in Syracuse from 1928-29. She was the dietitian for the Marybud Tea Room in Albany from 1924- 26.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Rensselaer County Tuberculosis and Public Health Association from 1931- 79, the Capital District Lung Association until 1979 and served on the executive board as vice president and Christmas Seal chairwoman for many years.
She was also a member of the Troy Boys Club Women's Auxiliary from 1935-71 and received 12-, 20-, 25-, 30- and 35-year Keystone Awards. She served as president, vice president and treasurer. She also served on the Women's Board of Vanderheyden Hall Inc. since 1944, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, Rensselaer County Junior Museum, Sunnyside Center, Leonard Hospital Auxiliary and the Friendly Red Door Motor Corps.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Rensselaer County Historical Society board of trustees and the former Troy Club Inc. She also did public relations work for the Troy Boys Club, Vanderheyden Hall, Sunnyside and St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary while she served on those boards.
Mrs. Taylor was a life member of the Women's Republican Club, a former representative on the state Women's Committee and the only woman appointed by the late Gov. Nelson Rockefeller to the Rensselaer County Beautification Program.
Mrs. Taylor did radio broadcasts from the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia in 1948 and from San Francisco in 1956. She had been a member of the Congressional Club in Washington since 1943.
Mrs. Taylor was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Troy, where she was appointed to the Vestry from 1979-82.
Survivors include a son, Peter Taylor of Brunswick, and two grandsons.
Private services were held. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
A memorial service will be held later at a time to be announced.
There will be no calling hours.
