William Travis Lowery; age 87, died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado following a short illness. He was born on Sunday, December 7, 1919, in Bienville, Louisiana to William and Katie (Mostiller) Lowrey.

William lived in Minden, Louisiana for over 50 years then moved to Lakewood, Colorado for the remainder of his life.

Mr. Lowery graduated from Bienville High School in 1937. Upon graduation, William worked as a farmer on his 320 acre family farm raising corn, cattle and livestock with his family.

William entered the United States Army in 1940 where he was an Aircraft Engineering Chief. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Master Sergeant in the 23d Depot Repair Squadron.

After William was discharge, he worked as a forester manager and owner for over 50 years.

In retirement, William enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, timber management, church and especially, his "girls." He was a member of the Minden Presbyterian Church, Louisiana Forestry Association, Retired 23d Depot Repair Squadron and the Grand Lodge of Masonry.

William was survived by his two granddaughter's and great-granddaughter.

William was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne, and his five siblings.

The pallbearers for the funeral service was Bob Addison, James Garner, Don Brice and Bob Dixon.

Memorials was made available to the National Alzheimer's Association.
