Born March 31,1920 in McLennan County to Hancel M. and Bertha (Wright) McCaslin. She had one younger sister, Edna McCaslin Denney. Mabel went to schools in the Waco-Riesel areas, then going on to Nursing school where she graduated from the Providence School of Nursing on Sept.13,1944. After becoming an RN, she worked at both Providence Hospital and the Waco Veteran's Hospital for many years. She married Herman Batson Sept. 3, 1947, and their only child, Bobby, was born Jan. 24,1949. Mabel became a Christian early in life and was devoted to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She also loved her family dearly and is sorely missed. After a brief illness, she was called home by our Lord on May 22, 1981, at age 61. She will always be loved and missed.
