Francis G. Krafft, 85, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in his home unexpectedly.
He was born May 10, 1922 in Port Huron and was a life-long area resident. He married the former Beverly J. Arnold. She died December 17, 1992.

Francis was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army.

He retired from Prestolite after 25 years.

He was an avid gardener and was very well known for his tomatoes.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Janice) Krafft of Burtchville, Marie (Ernest) Ealy of Wolverine, MI, Karen (Terrance) Randolph of Lexington, Patrick Krafft of Four Oaks, NC, Stephen (Pam) Krafft of St. Petersburg, FL, and Kathy Krafft of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Opitz of Grand Haven, Edna Bileau of Port Huron, and Phyllis (Bob) Carrier of Fargo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Harold, Orville and Ken.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Stan Leichty of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Military rites will be under the direction of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Visiting hours are 5-8:00 p.m. Saturday and 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
