Son of Joe Coito Souza, Sr and Mary (Costa) Souza.

Joe Souza, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away peacefully at home in Tulare on March 17, 2022. Joe was born on May 14, 1936 the second of five children born to Joe and Mary Souza. Joe was raised and educated in Tulare. While attending Tulare Union High School he met his future wife Carolyn Miguel. The couple would marry in May of 1957 and have 3 sons. Sadly Carolyn passed away in December of 1968 after only 11yrs of marriage. Happily love was found again with Olivia Simoes. They married in February 1970 and had two daughters. They were married for 52yrs. Joe was best known as being the owner of the Men and Boys store in downtown Tulare and a hay salesman in Tulare and Kings counties. What he really enjoyed was coaching football and baseball. Even after all the years that had gone by since his coaching days with his sons you could still hear grown men passing by him at the Little League park where he was watching his grandsons play saying, "Hi coach".

Joe was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn, parents Joe and Mary, sister Clarice Mathias, brother Danny Souza, and granddaughter Chandler Souza.

He will be very missed by his wife Olivia, his children Doug, Kenny, Steve, Jolyne and Melissa, his two siblings Gloria Simoes and Christine Souza and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We would like to say a special thank you to our hospice nurses from American Care that helped take care of dad.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, 4-7 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home

Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, with burial at North Tulare Cemetery.
