Alice Jean Merricks Anneski, age 92, went to join her husband Anthony in Heaven on March 12 in Mesa, Arizona.
Born September 12, 1929, in Clifton Forge, Virginia, Jean was the youngest daughter of the late Louie Smith and Cora Mayhew Merricks.
Jean was predeceased by sisters Edith Merricks Kinlaw and husband Martin, Frances Merricks Wright and husband Horace and Lucille Merricks Hendrix and husband Jewel; in addition to brothers Bobby Lee Merricks and wife Betty, and Louis Smith Merricks Jr., and one special niece Patricia Briggs.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Anthony William Anneski, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Cynthia Jean Anneski and husband Russell O'Connor of Gilbert, Arizona, her two grandsons, Scott and Viktor O'Connor, and her sister-in-law Carol Merricks, in addition to many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Jean will rest for eternity next to her husband Anthony at the Altavista Memorial Park in Altavista, Virginia. Funeral services provided by Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Virginia. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 21 from 6-8 pm at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Virginia. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 22 at the Altavista Memorial Park in Altavista, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski, Virginia, or the City of Refuge in Pulaski are encouraged.
