Mrs. Martha Anglen

Mrs. Martha Anglen, 92, died early Wednesday morning home of her daughter, Mrs. G. C. Oursler, 1749 North Broadway.

Mrs. Anglen was born May 6. 1860 in Iowa, and came to Kansas in a covered wagon in the summer of 1880. She and her husband settled on farm near Topeka. In the early 1900's Mr. and Mrs. Anglen moved to Aurora, MO., where a railroad was under construction. Each of them drove freight wagons to deliver supplies to the railroad workers and although the work was hard, Mrs. Anglen was as successful at the job as was her husband. Coming to Wichita in 1919, she had made her home in this city since that time. For the past four years, she had lived with Mrs. Oursler except for a short time she spent in a care home at 4648 Arkansas. She returned to her daughter's home only last Sunday. She was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. M. G. Rowley, of El Dorado, Kan.; Mrs. Lula Jackson, 622 East 13th; and Mrs. Oursler. Seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic church, 2009 Arkansas. Burial will take place in Highland cemetery.

Lahey mortuary is in charge of service arrangements.
