He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 58 ½ years, Mary "Peggy" Tannehill, who he married on July 27, 1963. Scott is also survived by a daughter, Brenda Yoder and husband Merv, Bedford; sister Etta (Howard) Nicklow; brothers Jack and Richard (Laberta) Kreger; a very special aunt, Sarah Singo, who was more like a sister than an aunt; brothers-in-law David (Kacie) Tannehill, Richard (Debby) Tannehill, and Paul Tannehill; sister-in-law Brenda Tannehill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention.
Scott worked for many years as a golf course greenskeeper at both King's Mountain Golf Course and Middlecreek Golf Course and was a construction worker in his younger years. He regularly attended Kingwood Church of God very faithfully, trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior many years ago, and is now living out the promise of Heaven. If you knew Scott, you knew how much he loved having new cars and keeping them spotlessly clean. He also enjoyed keeping his lawn looking good, a by-product of being a golf course greenskeeper for over 50 years.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to UPMC Somerset Hospital (ICU and third floor A and B) and to the Patriot and In Touch Hospice House. The care, kindness and compassion extended to him there will never be forgotten. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, March 20 at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 1 PM Monday, March 21 with Rev. James Monticue officiating. Final resting place in Addison Cemetery. Viewing one hour prior to the service on Monday.
