Donald (Don) Arthur Bernard Light was born in Prince Albert, SK on February 21st, 1988 to Kelly Lynn Pickering and Colin Barry Light. He was the second born (by only a few minutes) after his twin brother David. Shortly after the birth of the twins, Kelly and Colin welcomed brother Braden. The crew of brothers grew in the years following, with Kelly having brother Adam, and Colin welcoming baby brother Drake.

Donald's youth was spent being a normal kid on a bike, building forts, collecting frogs and bugs, fishing, and spending summers in BC, or at his favourite place: his grandfather's cabin at Besnard Lake, SK. He was a scout, a French exchange student, a track athlete, and a student, starting his schooling at Riverside Community School and graduating from Carlton Comprehensive High School in 2006.

After high school Don wore many different hats, with roles ranging from a train conductor at a pulp mill to a car detailer, and even serving a brief stint in the military. After living in

Trois-Rivières, QC; Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC; and Kitimat, BC; he moved home to Prince Albert, SK to help take care of his little brother to whom he was devoted. Once home he spent his free time as an unpublished writer.

Don had a love for music and was self taught on the guitar and piano. He loved hiking up mountains, biking through nature, long walks by the river, taking Adam to the movies, talks with his Aunt Cindy, photography, many different video games, and above all, literature. His room was constantly scattered with books from JRR Tolkien to William Shakespeare. He loved reading, writing, and the English language. At one point he had even considered becoming an English Professor. His unpublished work "Avengard" has seen many drafts and rewrites, and we hope it still will make its way to the publisher so we can share his work with the world.

Don is survived by: His mother Kelly Pickering, and brother Adam Pickering (Prince Albert, SK); his father Colin Light (Josie), and brother Drake Light (Kitimat, BC), twin brother David Light (partner Jeremy Theriault) (Halifax, NS); Brother Braden Light (fiancé Alicia Fiddler), and niece Aurora Light (Prince Albert, SK); Grandmother Elsie Thompson (Kinistino, SK), Godparents Carol and Luke Gyoerick (Prince Albert, SK), and a very long list of amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that stretch from coast to coast.

Don was predeceased by: His grandfather David Pickering, and grandmother Joyce Pickering (Prince Albert, SK); grandfather Harold Thompson (Kinistino, SK); grandfather Art Light, and grandmother Gladys Light (Birch Hills, SK); and uncle Dale Pickering (Prince Albert, SK).
