Louisiana was the widow of James Leach, they married 22 Dec 1889 at Marion, Grant, Indiana. James died in 1892, and in his will he left $1 each to his three adult children, then left the remainder of his estate, real and personal, to his wife, Louisiana.

After James' death, she relocated to Lamoni in about 1900. In June 1905 she was involved in a series of deed transactions between herself and Emma Alice Weedmark and John Weedmark, involving the buying and selling of lots in Lamoni.

In May 1912 Louisiana sold several lots in Lamoni to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for $1.

She is last recorded on the 1915 Iowa state census as residing at the Saints Home, where she died a year later.
