Alberta M. Torento, age 66, beloved wife of 43 years to Harold "Butch" Torento of Milford, and mother of the late Susan Torento, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Milford Hospital and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Born August 2, 1941 in Bridgeport to the late Albert and Eleanor Maresca DeFeo, she graduated from the Central High School in Bridgeport and the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, U.B. and then worked until she became ill five years ago. In her earlier career, Alberta worked for Dr. A. Russo in Milford and later for Dr. Howard Tolk and Dr. Vernon Dommu in Fairfield. She was president of the Local 944 International Professional Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary and secretary for the Milford Toys for Tots. In addition to her husband, she leaves a sister, Virginia Boughton and her husband, Edgar of Milford; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Torento and his wife, Sandra, Jennifer Camillo and John Torento and his wife, Leslie Darling; and her nieces, Laura Ahlborn, Deborah Boughton, Amy Yann, Elizabeth Petro-pulos, Elizabeth Isabelle, Keri Ann Torento, Keyanna Tor-ento, Lindsay Darling, Claire Torento, Robert and Douglas Torento, Medie and Sean Camillo; and many dear cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course the loves of her life, her great-nephews, Andrew and Owen Petropulos. We will miss her bright smile, her sage advice to all who asked for it, and the kindness she shared with everyone. Funeral from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford Monday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Milford. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.
