Mr. Kelso Crowder "Casey" Horne Jr., age 77, of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022.

On July 18, 1944, he was born in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Kelso Crowder Horne Sr. and Doris Garner Horne. Upon graduating high school in Dublin, Casey went to Journalism school at the University of Georgia. He then worked in Dublin at the Dublin Courier Herald. He then decided to join the military, where he would proudly serve his nation in the US ARMY for 22 years, retiring as a Major. While in the Army, Casey received his master's degree from Webster University. Deciding to continue his education, he and his first wife, June, decided to go to the University of Georgia again to obtain their Doctorate degrees in Law. They decided to move to Dahlonega and open a law practice, where he worked from 1983 until 2017, when he retired. Casey was also a private pilot instructor as well as an NRA instructor. He was very proud to have been able to serve his county and was extremely proud of his boys for following in his footsteps.
